1. Who We Are
Sacred is a Muslim prayer, fasting, and worship tracking app made by Promethion Tech, doing business as Sacred (Muslim Buddy). This Privacy Policy explains what information Sacred collects and how it is used.
2. What Sacred Is
Sacred helps users track prayers, fasts, qada, reminders, and other worship routines. Most of your data stays on your device by default. Some features, such as sign-in, cloud backup, and social features, may use our service providers to store or process data so the app can work.
3. Data We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide Sacred’s core features. Some data is required to create an account or use the app, while other data is collected only if you choose to enable a feature.
Required or commonly used information
- Name and email: display name, email address, and sign-in details used for account creation and support.
- User and device identifiers: Supabase user ID, RevenueCat identifiers, push notification tokens, and other device identifiers used for sign-in, account security, and notifications.
- Purchases: Sacred Pro or lifetime purchase status when you buy or restore purchases through Apple or Google.
Optional information you may choose to provide or enable
- Health and wellness data: Sacred offers optional period and nifas tracking as a health and wellness feature—not medical diagnosis or treatment. Period and cycle records you enter in Sacred stay on your device by default. Sacred’s team cannot view them. They are not sent to Sacred’s servers unless you separately enable the private-data backup option in Settings (see Health Integrations below).
- Android — Local period tracking: On Android, period and nifas tracking is private and local inside the app. The current Android release does not connect to Health Connect and does not request Android health permissions. Cycle estimates and fasting support that use your local records remain on-device unless you separately enable private cycle backup.
- iOS — Apple Health (iOS only): On iOS, if you enable cycle sync, the Sacred app on your device may read and write menstrual flow records through Apple Health (HealthKit). That permission is iOS-only and does not apply on Android. Granting Apple Health permission does not mean Sacred’s servers or team can see your cycle records; sync is between Apple Health and the app on your device unless you separately enable private-data backup.
- Precise location: location used for prayer times, Qibla, widgets, and backup-related features when you allow it.
- Religious practice data: prayer logs, fasts, qada entries, madhab preferences, reminders, and other worship-related settings.
- Social profile data: display name, Sacred tag, and circle or leaderboard names if you use social features.
We do not collect advertising data, product interaction data for cross-app tracking, or other data used for marketing or tracking. We also do not collect crash or diagnostic data through third-party analytics SDKs. Sacred follows data minimization for optional period tracking and iOS-only Apple Health access.
4. How We Use Your Data
- Provide Sacred’s core features, including prayer reminders, Qibla, prayer and fast logs, widgets, and account-based sync.
- Support optional local period and nifas tracking, cycle estimates, and fasting support when you enable them, plus optional Apple Health cycle sync on iOS only.
- Authenticate your account, keep your data secure, deliver push notifications, and respond to support requests.
- Process purchases and restore Sacred Pro entitlements.
- Support optional cloud backup, iCloud, Google Drive backup, and social or leaderboard features when you enable them.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity.
5. Service Providers
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
When you sign in or enable sync, backup, purchases, or social features, data may be stored or processed by service providers that help us operate Sacred. This is infrastructure processing only, to provide app functionality.
- Supabase: account data, profiles, prayer/fast logs, backup blobs, and push tokens.
- RevenueCat: purchase and entitlement status for Sacred Pro.
- Apple: iCloud, CloudKit, Game Center, and HealthKit on iOS when you enable those features.
- Google: sign-in and optional Google Drive backup on Android.
- Notion: optional prayer-log synchronization when you connect and authorize a Notion workspace.
Some providers process data on our behalf to operate Sacred. Other third-party services, including Notion, are independent services that you select and authorize directly. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to their services.
6. Notion Integration
Sacred’s Notion integration is optional. It activates only after you explicitly connect a Notion workspace through OAuth. When you enable it, Sacred may process or send the following information:
- Prayer names, dates, completion statuses, and prayer-log history you select for synchronization.
- Notion workspace identity, such as workspace ID and workspace name.
- Notion database or data-source identifiers and page identifiers.
- OAuth access and refresh credentials.
- Sync timestamps, mappings, conflict metadata, and operational error information.
Prayer records may reveal your religious practice or beliefs and are sensitive information. Sacred uses integration data only to provide authentication, database creation, bidirectional synchronization, conflict resolution, troubleshooting, and other app functionality. Sacred does not use this information for advertising, behavioral tracking, data brokerage, or AI training.
Sacred exchanges OAuth authorization information through its backend authentication endpoint and securely stores OAuth credentials needed for the integration. Sacred’s iOS and macOS apps communicate with Notion to read and update the user-authorized Sacred Prayer Log database. Notion stores synced prayer rows inside your selected workspace. During initial setup, you can choose whether to synchronize existing prayer-log history or only future changes.
Notion is an independent third-party service selected and authorized by you; it does not act only on Sacred’s behalf. Notion’s own terms and privacy policy apply to information processed or retained by Notion.
Disconnecting the integration stops future synchronization, and Sacred attempts to revoke or remove credentials it controls. Disconnecting does not automatically delete the Notion database or prayer rows already stored in your workspace. Deleting your Sacred account also does not automatically delete content retained in Notion. You must manage or delete retained Notion content directly through Notion. Sacred may retain limited operational records only as required for security, legal compliance, and service operation.
7. Health Integrations
Sacred offers optional period and nifas tracking as a health and wellness feature. On Android, that tracking is local to the app. On iOS only, you may also choose optional Apple Health (HealthKit) cycle sync. Sacred follows data minimization and does not request broader health permissions than a feature needs.
Sacred is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.
Android — Local period tracking
On Android, Sacred offers optional period and nifas tracking inside the app. The current Android release does not connect to Health Connect and does not request Android health permissions. Cycle records remain on your device by default. If you separately enable private cycle backup, the selected records may be stored through Sacred’s backup service so you can restore them. As with other private data, cycle and qada backups are excluded from cloud backups unless you separately enable the private-data backup option in Settings. Backup blobs for opted-in private data may be stored by Sacred’s service providers (including Supabase) only to operate backup and restore. We keep account data while your account is active and for a limited time afterward as needed for security, legal, and operational purposes. Local data remains on your device unless you delete it from the app or your device. This data is not sold or used for advertising, profiling, leaderboards, credit, insurance, or employment. You can disable private cycle backup and delete local or account data through Sacred’s settings and account controls. Signed-in users can also request account deletion in the app, which removes account data from our servers, though some data may remain in backups or in Apple, Google, or iCloud services until those services are managed separately.
iOS — Apple Health (iOS only)
On iOS only, if you enable cycle sync, Sacred may read and write menstrual flow records through Apple Health (HealthKit). This is optional and only happens when you grant permission in iOS Health settings. Apple Health sync is not available on Android.
You can revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. Revoking permissions stops future reads or writes, but it does not delete data that may already have been shared or stored elsewhere.
Cycle data stored locally is encrypted on the device. When a user enables private backup, data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS and access is limited through authenticated, user-scoped controls. No storage or transmission system is completely secure, but Sacred limits data access and retention as described in this policy.
8. Sensitive and Health Data
Sacred may process sensitive religious and wellness information, including prayer logs, fasts, qada entries, cycle and nifas data, and your chosen madhab or worship preferences. This data is used to provide the app’s tracking and reminder features. Period tracking is a health and wellness feature. Sacred is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice.
Cycle and qada data stay on your device unless you sign in or turn on cloud backup. Even then, those private data backups are excluded unless you separately enable the private-data backup option in Settings. On Android, period tracking is local and does not use Health Connect. On iOS only, optional Apple Health access is permission-based and limited to menstrual-flow / cycle data needed for that feature.
9. Location Data
Sacred may use your location for prayer times, Qibla direction, and widgets. This can include foreground location while you use the app and, on supported devices, optional background location when enabled for those features.
If you are signed in and use sync or backup, location data may be transmitted to our service providers so those features can work. Otherwise, much of this data remains local to your device.
10. Social Features
If you use optional social features, Sacred may display your chosen display name, Sacred tag, and circle or leaderboard names to other users. These features are optional and are not a chat or direct messaging product.
You are responsible for the content you choose to share in your display name or circle name. We may remove content that is offensive, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep account data while your account is active and for a limited time afterward as needed for security, legal, and operational purposes. Local data, including local cycle records, remains on your device unless you delete it from the app or your device.
Signed-in users can request account deletion in the app. Deleting your Sacred account removes account data from our servers, but some data may remain in backups or in Apple, Google, or iCloud services until those services are managed separately. If you separately enabled private-data backup for cycle data, manage or remove that copy through Sacred’s backup and account controls as described above.
12. Children
Sacred is not directed at children under 9. If a child under that age uses the app, parental guidance is recommended. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 9 for account creation or service use.
13. International Users
If you are in the European Union, California, or another region with privacy laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, depending on applicable law. To exercise those rights, contact us at the email below.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post a notice in the app or on the site and update the effective date.
15. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at developer@sacredtracker.app.
